Ganni is launching its first local collaboration with a Chinese brand by working with The Beast Home, a homeware and lifestyle multibrand retailer based in Shanghai.
Made using deadstock fabrics from previous collections, the loungewear and home goods collection features pajamas, quilts, pillowcases and cushions with eight different Ganni prints. A playful flower-shaped pillow, a popular product at The Beast Home, was reinterpreted in frills and emblazoned with a “tbh” logo. Another highlight is the pajama sets, all designed with traditional Chinese knot closure.
The Beast Home, previously The Beast, was launched as a flower boutique in Shanghai 10 years ago and has since become a lifestyle brand and multibrand retailer selling interior goods, fragrances and beauty products.
To document Ganni Girls’ lifestyle at home, Ganni launched a campaign titled “Remeet,” which featured set design created by Lina Sun Park, a New York-based artist known for her dreamy aesthetic. Featuring Ganni girls from all over the world, the editorial explored the idea of home as a personal sanctuary with a Scandinavian sense of “hygge,” or coziness.
“We’re super excited to work on our first homeware collab for our China community, and have always had our eye on The Beast,” said Ditte Reffstrup, Ganni’s creative director.
“It’s in our DNA to draw on our cultural heritage and democratic Danish design ideals and aesthetics in the home and celebrate a meeting of Copenhagen and Shanghai,” Reffstrup added.
The collaboration will debut on Friday at Ganni’s weeklong pop-up shop on Yanqing Road, a charming street in Shanghai’s historical downtown.
Ganni’s collaboration with The Beast Home will launch on the same day, available exclusively in the Chinese market.
The 26-piece collection will be available on Tmall, Ganni’s store at Reel in Shanghai, and the pop-up store and prices will range from $55 to $180 in the equivalent Chinese currency.
