North Devon Crematorium’s recycling scheme generates £14000 donation for North Devon Hospice – North Devon Gazette

North Devon Hospice has received a generous donation of £14,000 from North Devon Crematorium, thanks to its participation in a national metal recycling scheme.

The cheque presentation took place on Monday, 5 February, in an effort to support the hospice’s work in providing round-the-clock care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, both within the hospice and in their own homes.

The funds will also contribute to the hospice’s provision of emotional support for the families of patients during challenging times.

Mark Drummond, manager of North Devon Crematorium, alongside Councillor Simon Inch, chairman of the North Devon Crematorium Joint Committee, presented the cheque to representatives from North Devon Hospice.

Expressing his delight at the substantial donation, Councillor Inch shared the importance of the hospice’s role within the community, providing crucial support to families during periods of difficulty.

He stated, “The hospice is a vital charity for our community in the work that it does to support local families during what can be a very difficult and upsetting time in their lives. I’m sure the money will be well spent.”

Claire Paine, Business Relationship Manager at North Devon Hospice, expressed profound gratitude for the donation, acknowledging the significant impact it would have on their ability to continue providing essential care and support services.

She highlighted the hospice’s commitment to delivering compassionate care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses.

“At North Devon Hospice, we provide 24-hour care to those facing a life-limiting illness like cancer, both at our hospice and in their own homes,” said Ms Paine.

Ms Paine added, “This is only possible thanks to support from the local community and organisations like North Devon Crematorium, for which we are truly grateful.”
